
Jay Schug
Lead Pastor
Pastor Jay Schug has been serving as lead pastor at Community Fellowship since August 2011. He was saved in 1997 thru the college ministry of Decatur Baptist Church in Decatur, AL. Shortly after being discipled in his home church, Jay realized God's calling to preach. In the College/Career Ministry, Jay began leading a small group study, and also began discipling others. He continued his ministry training thru his home church, studying Discipleship Two, Discipleship Three, Leadership Training, and Sons of the Faith.
He has had the opportunity to participate in foreign mission trips to Belize, Dominican Republic, Haiti, Albania, Zambia, Morocco and India; as well as participate in Discipleship Training seminars with several churches in Alabama.
Jay met his wife Ali while serving together in the College/Career ministry, and they had the privilege of leading that ministry for several years. In 2011, the Lord opened the door for Jay to become lead pastor at Community Fellowship. Jay and Ali have been married for 25 years, and are the parents of Nora (15), and Emery (10).

Cody Head
Associate Pastor
Cody has been serving as associate pastor since 2021 and has lead the Praise and Worship Team since 2012. He accepted Jesus Christ as his Saviour in 1980. He started attending CFBC in 2012 and quickly recognized the need for personal discipleship in his life. After completing that process he began teaching and preaching and realized the call of God into full time ministry. He was ordained in 2021 and left his job in healthcare to come on staff as a full time pastor in 2024.
Cody met his wife Nicole while working in the healthcare field in 2001. They were married in 2008 and began attending CFBC in 2012. Nicole is active in various roles including Children's ministry. They have 3 children, Connor (17), Logan (10) and Grayson (10).

Colin Hardman
Children's Ministry Leader
Colin Hardman serves as the Children’s Director and a deacon at Community Fellowship. Colin grew up in Eureka, Missouri, and attended college at Missouri School of Science and Technology. He was saved during his college years while visiting a church upon his friend’s invitation. After graduation, he accepted engineering jobs in the southeast, and eventually moved to Alabama. He became a member of Community Fellowship and was excited for the opportunity to be discipled.
Colin is grateful that God has used him to lovingly share His word. Colin is passionate about children’s ministry and discipleship. Colin has had the opportunity to disciple other men at Community Fellowship. Colin has completed Ministry Tools and Training through CFBC, served on multiple mission trips, and attended several bible conferences.
Colin was blessed to marry Leslee and they have been married and laughing together for over 10 years. They have two beautiful, funny daughters, Scottlyn (9) and Berklee (6). Colin’s hobbies include spending time with his family, hockey, thinking he’s younger than he is, music, and collecting too many pairs of low-top Jordans.
